Patience: Not Just Another 4-Letter Word

Life is a journey. It’s not about the destination. We’re all works in progress.

You’ve heard these statements, right?

But do you still sometimes find yourself asking when will it get easier? When will it get better? When can you finally have joy? prosperity? peace?

There is so much happening in our country – people in power being called out for sexual misconduct, people assuming guilt before allegations are proven. Political misconduct coming to light. Racial divide and hatred. Terrorism. Mass shootings. Natural disasters…

What is God making? Is there a cleansing that is sweeping across our earth?

We’re also seeing a flood of goodness, an outpouring of caring that is emerging from every tragedy.

We can’t really know the whole picture or how this play ends. In the words of the farmer in the Zen Buddhist story, “Who knows? We’ll see.” (If you haven’t heard the story, join us for today’s call.”

Good things come to those who WAIT (4-letter word for Patience) – that is, if you don’t die waiting, right?
