Moving Beyond Trauma – Resources to Help You through the Healing
Today we are going to explore the resources we have available to us as we are moving through the healing process. Again, this is relevant to anyone on a healing path, not only for those who have experienced severe trauma.
The healing journey can get pretty intense at times. If your nervous system becomes too highly activated or you become uncomfortable and need a reprieve, call on your resources to provide a sense of comfort and help you come to a resting place.

Today’s call is Part 2 in a series, Moving Beyond Trauma. It’s okay if you didn’t listen to last week’s call yet. It’s not a pre-requisite, and you can go back and listen any time.

On the call we’ll practice some practical techniques for calling on our resources and resting into the comforts that are available for us.
Resources to Help in Healing
Everyone has resources we can call on. Resources help us rest into the comforts that are available for us at any time.
Some are imaginary. Some are tangible.
Some are internal. Some are external.
EXAMPLES OF RESOURCES:
- Memory of someone or something that has been a comforting presence in your life.
- Physical exercise, movement, dance, stretching.
- Music, art, writing.
- Sound & breath exercises, such as Continuum Movement or Yoga or Sufi chanting.
- Walks in nature. Connecting with nature, water or your favorite tree.
- Something tangible in your physical space – a picture, stuffed animal, crystal, pendant, or a view of nature through a window.
On the worksheet provided or a blank sheet of paper:
Make a list of resources you have available to you. Refer to this list when life feels challenging, and allow yourself to rest into the comforts that are available to you at any time.
