Moving Beyond Trauma – Releasing Identity of the Past
Someone in our Community for Conscious Living facebook group requested that we talk about why people identify themselves with their traumatic events and why it’s so hard to let go of that identity.
First, THANK YOU! I love – and actually prefer – responding to requests of the community. If you have requests for future topics, please post in the facebook group, comment on this post or click here to email me.
Secondly, that’s what we’re going to talk about today – with the emphasis on how to move out of that identity in a way that honors the wisdom of your body and respects the needs of your nervous system, muscle memory, cellular consciousness and of course your heart.
Listen to the podcast here:
Regardless of whether you consider your life events to be trauma, we all have past events that have shaped our self-identity. However, our past does not define us. Past events do not make us who we are. They give us pathways to discover who we are – the resilience, strength, love and all the beautiful attributes we find inside ourselves in challenging times.
But the past does not create these qualities. They are in you now and have been in you all along. Your first life-defining event was when your pure spirit was breathed into your physical existence. This is the truth of who you are.
Past events do not make us who we are. They give us pathways to discover who we are. Share on X
Please join us for today’s Prayer & Healing Circle. We’ll practice some practical techniques for moving beyond trauma – settling the nervous system and grounding into your body. We’ll call on the light of your pure existence to hold you and remind you of your Divine truth.
Our Divine Attribute for today is Al-Mu’id, The Restorer.
You’re invited to join us. As always, you are welcome to bring your prayers for personal struggles, challenges of and with those you care about, for peace, for fulfillment, and for the health and sustainability of our planet.
Bring whatever is on your heart. Come as you are, receive, heal and grow. Please invite your friends to join us, too.
In the future, if you’d like to join us live, there is time for Q&A and sharing at the end of the call – off the recording.
Hope to see you there next time…
