Acts of Kindness for Your Heart
“To give pleasure to a single heart
by a single act
is better than a thousand heads
bowing in prayer.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
“Service which is rendered
without joy
helps neither the servant
nor the served.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
In addition to its service, extending kindness to others brings joy to the heart. Yet sometimes the heart of the giver needs kindness for itself. Otherwise, the heart can grow tired and resentful, and become barricaded behind a wall of protection.
The barricade protects the heart from pain, but also restricts the heart’s capacity for joy.
Listen to the podcast here:
In today’s Prayer & Healing Circle, we’ll practice not-so-random acts of kindness for our own hearts to release the barricades and restore and expand the capacity for joy.
You’re invited to join us.
As always, you are welcome to bring your prayers for personal struggles, challenges of and with those you care about, for peace, for fulfillment, and for the health and sustainability of our planet.
Bring whatever is on your heart. Come as you are, receive, heal and grow. Please invite your friends to join us, too.
