I want to let you know a little bit about Self-Care for the Soul. In this podcast, I’ll be sharing with you a passion for exploring how our belief systems and our daily habits affect our health, our physical health, mental health, emotional health, as well as our connection with spirits and our caring for the planet. We are all connected. There’s no separation. If you’re ever confused about what’s best for you, then look at what’s best for the planet, because be assured, it’s the same thing. The intelligence of the universal oneness would have it no other way. I’ll be sharing with you my passions around food, as our relationship with foods and our habits with food affect our personal health and the sustainability of the planet. I firmly believe that your relationship to food and to your body is a direct reflection of your relationship with your deepest inner knowing, your core essence, your highest self, your source, your connection with all that is.
We’ll be exploring that. We’ll be exploring approaches to personal growth through changing your outer habits like your food, lifestyle, learning to meditate, healing relationship, healing a physical illness, or emotional distress. We’ll be tapping into that desire to live more closely aligned with your heart, your inner truths. We’ll share ways to experience a deeper connection with your source, to align with the highest intelligence, with God, with Spirit, with Allah, with whatever name you want to call it. We’ll learn ways to honor the environment, caring for the planet, the plants, the water, the animals, the air, and all of nature. All of these things are so very much needed and to truly impact any of these, to really make a difference in any one of them, is to impact all of them. Human, environment, earth, spirit, again, there’s no separation.
These are the discussions that you’ll find here at Self-Care for the Soul Podcast. During this time, I’m going to be bringing you a couple of different kinds of broadcasts. There’s a weekly Prayer & Healing Circle and then there are also guest interviews. With the weekly Prayer &Healing Circle, that’s from my community, the Community for Conscious Living. The Community for Conscious Living is dedicated to personal transformation for universal harmony, healing the planet by making inspired changes in ourselves and our daily lives to create a sustainable environment and a peaceful world. What the weekly Prayer & Healing Circle is, it’s an ecumenical spiritual healing meditation that is led by me. Then there are the guest interviews. For the guest interviews, we’ll be starting this podcast off with a special series of interviews from a project that I’ve kicked off called While We Were Silent.
In the wake of the events that fueled the #MeToo Movement, I kept hearing the questions, “Why would someone stay silent and then speak up after twenty years? There must be some ulterior motive or they’re just coming forward out of vengeance or to take someone down who’s in power or could it be a conspiracy?” All of these questions. This is a conversation that it’s timely, it’s relevant, and it’s so important for our conversation because my experience is that silence is the norm, not the exception. I wanted to explore the why and I want to help all of us, those who have experienced sexual trauma in their lives and sexual abuse and those who have not, to understand why people do not speak up and what happens inside during the periods of silence.
These are interviews with experts in healing from trauma of sexual abuse and each of these experts was chosen because they have experienced it themselves. They’ve walked the path of healing and now they’re helping others to heal. They’re all very down-to-earth and accessible people that you can reach out to if you have a situation you’re dealing with, if your wounds have been scratched by what all has been going on and the conversation that’s been happening in the world and you’d like to reach out for some help. I chose them specifically for those purposes. These interviews explore opportunities for healing and they also look at what is shifting in the mass consciousness as our culture and our greater humanity has a great opportunity to heal.
Healing means to make whole. Share on XThere’s an undercurrent that’s been woven into our fiber of humanity that has allowed the prevalence of sexual abuse to exist for a very long time. The hope is that rather than just have the next big new story come up and have this swept under the rug, we can bring these conversations to light. We can do the deep work on the individual level and on the mass level because as I’ve said before, they’re one in the same. You can’t do one without the other, to really do it in a truly effective way. Healing means to make whole. If you believe that we are spirit beings and we are connected with all that is, that wholeness when we feel it inside of ourselves, we heal the lineage, multi-generations, and we heal the planet.
In this series, While We Were Silent, we’re going to kick off with that. You’re invited to subscribe to this podcast, Self-Care for the Soul, so that you’re notified of all of the episodes as they’re released and that includes the While We Were Silent and the weekly Prayer & Healing Circle. There are many other topics that are going to be coming your way very soon. I’m excited about all of them. I got a lot of fun things planned and very exciting things planned, things that I love and geek out on when it comes to finding ways to heal ourselves, to live a more complete, whole happy and fulfilling lives, especially with the emphasis on focusing our daily lives and habits on the things that are going to have a positive impact on the sustainability and the health of the planet and our connection with Spirit. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing some really great content with you. I thank you so much.
