Several people participated in naming this new program. More than 95% of those who voted called it a Community – The Community for Conscious Living.
So this means it’s not just about me showing up by video or audio once a week. It’s about what we can do when we come together. What could be better than that?!

The Community for Conscious Living is a community dedicated to Personal Transformation and Universal Harmony. The mission is to heal the planet by making inspired changes in ourselves and our daily lives to create a sustainable environment and a peaceful world.
In addition to doing the inner work to realize our connection with nature and all that is (including ourselves), we will be simultaneously focusing on the needs of the outer world, including service and charity.
There are ample opportunities to serve on the global and national levels, and also locally where we can put our boots on the ground to make a difference in our communities.
Sitting in reflection about this the other day, I made a list of causes that are important to me. It was easy to come up with a dozen causes – 1 for each month of the year. But we’re a community, so of course I want to hear which causes are important to you!
You can email me and let me know your favorite cause and why it’s important to you, but please finish reading this first.
Our first community support opportunity:
This first cause was on my list, though I admit I didn’t think this was where we would start. Then a friend lost a young family member, who had a heart attack at 20 years old after suffering with anorexia and bulimia for much of her short life.
Then the topic kept showing up on Facebook. It was really getting my attention and pulling at my heart strings as it highlighted the prevalence and gravity of this disease.
Also, last week’s message and meditation naturally led to speaking of the messages that lead women to hide behind shame, guilt and unworthiness instead of allowing their sacred holy nature to shine through.
So, it was a natural evolution. For the month of October, we will focus on education, support and healing for Eating Disorders.
Here’s what you can do:
#1:
Throughout October, we’ll be sharing education and ways to raise awareness and make a difference for people who struggle with Eating Disorders. If you have information to share, please share it in the Facebook group.
#2:
In the midst of last week’s live broadcast, I offered a Women’s Sacred Healing & Discussion Group to be held on Thursdays in October. I’m very excited for this and hope you’ll join us! This subject has strong ties to eating disorders and emotional eating.
You don’t need to have an eating disorder to participate in this group. The more we can do as women to carry the truth of the feminine, the more we can transform the expectations for all womankind. If you are called to the Women’s Sacred Healing & Discussion Group, please join us. CLICK HERE.
NOTE: This class is a FREE offering, because I do not want to turn anyone away who needs help. However, love offerings are accepted with gratitude. 20% of all offerings will go to support NEDA – National Eating Disorders Association. I will submit your donation in your name so you can get credit for your taxes.
NEDA has a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator – a distinction only 18% of non-profits can claim. They also have a number of tools and educational materials available on their website, including an anonymous online assessment tool, a toll-free helpline, a crisis text-line and a guide to local support groups throughout the country. NEDA has done an amazing amount of work to help the millions of women and men who struggle with these disorders.
#3:
If you are not called to join the class, you are welcome to contribute to NEDA directly, or click here to find out how you can get involved.
If you know someone who may be at risk, send them to NEDA’s website, or visit the site yourself for information on what you can do.
As you find ways to support this cause, please share your ideas and/or actions in our Facebook group so that others may be inspired.
I hope you’ll join us for the Women’s Sacred Healing & Discussion Group.
For men, I’m sorry this course is not for you, though I have learned that 10 million men in the US also suffer from eating disorders.
If you could use support, please contact me and let me know. If there is interest, we’ll get a group set up for you too. If appropriate, I’ll call on one of my male colleagues to offer the support for you.
Thank you so much! I’m excited to see what we create together!
Hope to see you on Sunday.
Live and Love Joyfully!
Debra Mastura
P.S. If you know others who would like to join in any of these efforts or programs, please share this with with them. Thank you!
