There’s a question that comes up often around the conversation of weight loss, body transformation and diet. The same question can be translated to digestion and physical health in general.
—
The question is so often debated, and it comes in a couple of forms:
“I’m eating all the right things, but I still can’t release the weight. Could there be a hidden reason I’m keeping the weight on?”
OR
“Can I lose weight and keep it off without addressing my subconscious beliefs or emotional issues?”
A situation came up in one of the Food-Body-Spirit Journey groups that offers a beautiful illustration of how I answer these questions.
Here’s the situation:
A participant had a significant energetic release in one of the healing processes. At the end of the process, she heard a voice inside say, “I’m ready to let go of the weight now.”
Here is how she describes her realization:
“It’s not me putting that expectation on my body – now my body does want to lose the weight. That’s a new twist. I’ve never felt that way before. I’ve always felt that I should lose weight, that I would feel more agile if I lost the weight.
And then I come to a place of love and acceptance for my body as it is now, and not pressuring it to change.
And now my body wants to lose the weight? This is new.”
This situation is not unique to this participant. This is the exact realization that many of my clients and program participants have had on their journeys to heal – whether they are struggling with weight, body image, emotional eating or digestion.
Many have lost excess weight, soothed digestive dysfunction and come to a place of comfort in their bodies and contentment in their hearts as a result of transforming stuck emotions, beliefs and energetic patterns.
Here’s an explanation of how energies, beliefs and emotions work in the physical body:
The body holds consciousness at the cellular level. All of the pictures, images and voices of the past are held in the tissues. They are in the subconscious of the physical body.
The heart holds associated feelings, the mind holds associated beliefs and stories, and we develop strategies around the collective information – pictures, voices, feelings, stories, beliefs.
The strategies are all about how to be safe in this illusionary world. It’s hard to let go of what has kept us safe if we believe we still need this protection.
So bringing the love and healing energies into the parts of the body that hold the pictures and voices actually washes the pictures and voices.
You will likely still remember the incidents, but they don’t live in your subconscious and anchor your coping strategies in place any more.
So when you clear the pictures and voices, and replace them with love and compassion, it returns your consciousness to a deeper truth. Your body doesn’t need the coping strategies any more – such as holding on weight as a protection for yourself. You are free to let the weight go!!
The body is an amazing creation – much more than just the physical nature that we see with our eyes. It is integrated with our memories, emotions and beliefs. If we want to change the physical, we need support for the other components to change as well.
If we want true healing that transforms the entire being all the way to the core, the other components of the body – physical, energetic, mental and emotional – must be aligned with the core of the spirit.
This brings you into alignment with your deepest inner truths, which leads to a life of fulfillment and joy. Why would you stop at anything less?
I hope you find this helpful.
Have a beautiful day.
Live & Love Joyfully,
Debra
