Holidays are upon us. Are you emotionally prepared?

According to the results of a [2023] poll by the American Psychological Association:

Nearly nine in 10 (89%) [US adults] say that concerns such as not having enough money, missing loved ones and anticipating family conflict cause them stress at this time of year.

While stress appears to be common at this time of year, 43% said that the stress of the holidays interferes with their ability to enjoy them and 36% said the holidays feel like a competition.

Even if you are the one in 10 who does not stress during the holidays, chances are you will spend time with others who do. Either way, there are tools to help you navigate whatever may come up at this time of year.

More than 50 percent of women in the US report feeling unsafe just by virtue of being in a female body. Food is an effective crutch to help us feel safe and secure.
