When to Hold On to Intentions (and when to let them go)
Did you set intentions for the past year that were not manifested? Maybe obstacles kept getting in your way, or maybe you just didn’t get to it yet, or maybe you changed your mind. But the question inevitably comes up: Should I hold on to this intention and keep trying or should I let it go and move on?

It’s not always easy to know if it’s meant to be, but we have two Divine Names, divine powers that can help us determine when something needs a bit more time for gestation and when it is ready to move forward.
I’ll list them here so you reference them during the meditation:
- Al-Mu’akhkhir, The One Who holds back, to hold back and let it gestate before acting on it
- Al-Muqaddim, The One Who moves forward
We also call on two other Divine Names, which represent the cycle of death and birth or rebirth:
- Al-Mumit, The Bringer of Death, ending, closure
- Al-Muhyi, The Giver of Life, regenerative life force
Get a pen and paper so you can list your insights into what is best to carry forward, what is best to let rest for a while longer, and what is best to let go of altogether.
