Sacred Sound for Getting Back into Your Body

The traumas of life can disconnect us from our bodies. When we experience a shock, we rebound out. We live from our heads, or we retreat inward or hide behind ourselves. We have trouble being our authentic selves in relationships or expressing our thoughts clearly in work environments.

Sound vibration is really helpful for breaking up stuck energies to release old patterning and blocks from the body, and it’s also helpful for getting back into your body, connecting with your core authentic self.

There are specific sounds which can help us reconnect and anchor into our bodies, regardless of how long ago the traumas occurred.

In this Meditation & Healing Circle, we work with a sequence of Sacred Sounds to ground into our bodies and become the solid powerful presence that feels natural and on point with who we are meant to be.

The sound sequence is as follows:

Noon (nun) – light upon light
Noor (nur) – light emanating and reflecting to give us the ability to see images
Ruh (with a strong breathy H at the end) – the spirit or soul
HHHaa (again with a strong breathy H) – Breath of Spirit breathing your spirit into your body
MMMM or Mmmeeemm – The fluid essence or fluid existence gathered into your physical body
Mmmmmuuuuu – The fluid existence of your spirit being settling into your physical body, into your hips and pelvic bowl.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Whether you have experienced traumas directly related to these topics or not, we all hold trauma responses in our nervous systems.

With a national focus on such abuses, this is a good time to tap into the collective intentions and bring release and healing to those places that are wanting to let go.

For the remainder of April, we’ll be using Sacred Sound to release and heal old traumas and restore our hearts and nervous systems, so mark your calendar to join us each Sunday.
