My spiritual teacher said, “For all of you here who want to save the planet, go home and care for your families.” Or maybe he was just speaking to me.

I admit I found this particularly annoying at the time. I felt I had important work to do in the world, and what did my family have to do with that?

But yesterday, in our Ocean of Sound embodiment practice, I got what this meant in a deep inner microcosmic way and on a global macrocosmic way.

Whether we want to heal the planet, the family, or ourselves, we need to care for the mother, to be the mother, to be the earth – the stable, grounding, healing, nurturing, loving force of compassion. Share on X

When we want to heal the family, we need to care for the mother, to be the mother, to be the earth – the stable, grounding, healing, nurturing, loving force of compassion.

On a larger scale, when we want to heal the world, we need to return to care for the Mother Earth – to support her and reinforce her qualities of stability, grounding, healing, nurturing, love, and compassion.

And we need to call all our earthly family home – through the attractive forces of love and compassion – to this family nucleus to care for our Mother Earth and for each other as one family.

Given the strife in our global family, this return is our pathway of healing. We learn our most powerful tools for healing through our relationships with our family of origin. One is a mirror for the other, and of course they are not separate.

In this Meditation & Healing Circle, we connect inwardly to be the mother and connect our inner mother with the Mother Earth to, God willing, illuminate and radiate the attractive forces that draw people home to the global family to care for our Mother Earth and care for each other.
