Balancing Power and Kindness. Are they mutually exclusive?

Who doesn’t want to stand strong and powerfully in the truth of who they are? But what about gentle loving kindness and compassion? Balancing power and kindness can be tricky, but are they mutually exclusive?

So often we back down from owning our strength and personal power because we have had bad experiences with people who exerted power over us. If we have negative images of “people in power,” why on earth would we want to become one of them?

We value gentle loving kindness. We are compassionate forgiving people. But we don’t want to be a pushover — and we don’t want to be a jerk!

So we decide we’re going to own our power, take up the space we’re born to live into and stand strong in who we are. Then that little voice that lurks inside trips us up at the most inconvenient times.

It can keep us from taking the steps we need to take to truly heal, to have fulfilling careers, to make the money we need, to have the relationships we desire.

Our experiences can imprint us with the beliefs that strength and power are for jerks and kind people get dumped on. Our subconscious patterning drives our behaviors that reinforce the beliefs.

So we put up the blocks and barriers to protect ourselves from misused power and from getting dumped on. We suppress our natural God-given power behind the barriers. Then we operate from a lack of power and strength, compensating for the lack with learned defense patterns.

It’s the defense patterns that stem from lack that actually exhibit the jerky behaviors that hurt and offend. It’s not the true Divine power and innate inner strength.

If we want to kind and strong, we need to own and embody the power and strength we were born with, breathed into us as a part of our life force energy.

We value kindness, and we value strength. But we don’t want to be a pushover -- and we don’t want to be a jerk! Share on X

We’ll call forth our coping strategies and defense mechanism that cover over our true strength and power, and we’ll wash them with the vibration of Divine Strength and Power. We’ll invite the Divine Strength and Power from within to awaken and fill the core, allowing the barriers to wash away and reveal the truth – a power that has no opponents, but just is.

No need to exert power. You can be the power and exert gentle loving kindness.
